An earworm, sometimes known as a brainworm, is a catchy piece of music that continually repeats through a person's mind after it is no longer playing. Phrases used to describe an earworm include musical imagery repetition, involuntary musical imagery, and stuck song syndrome.
The word earworm is a calque from the German Ohrwurm and was, according to Oliver Sacks, first used in the 1980s. The phenomenon is common and should not be confused with palinacousis, a rare medical condition caused by damage to the temporal lobe of the brain that results in auditory hallucinations.
Have an earworm? You've come to the right place ! I created this thread so that people can share their earworms and favorite songs. ^^ So, I woke up with this song in my head, one from my favorite band Matchbox Twenty. It aptly describes the mood of someone who has to face a crisis. Their songs always brighten up my day. ^^ ( lyrics)

Uncle Ger, that song is so silly ! I recognised Putin right away XD Since nobody else is posting, here is my yesterday's earworm from another one of my favorite groups, Icelandic "Of Monsters and Man". They sang a track from my favorite movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I think I will read the book that movie was based on, because from the movie, his secret life seems similar to mine. XD lyrics

I have wanted to go to Iceland since highschool... I am almost ashamed to say it, but it is because of a Tom Clancy book. Russia invades Iceland (in a world war 3 sort of scenario) to capture the American airbase and wrest control of the Atlantic from NATO forces... ANYWHO, Tom Clancy painted a wonderful image of the Icelandic countryside as a group of soldiers fled the invaders, which inspired research and a fondness for the country. Eventually, I developed the idea to move there and open a paintball field near the airport and cater to tourists. (Obviously, this never came through)
ANYWHO
Here is my earworm, in response to yours. I cannot recall where I first saw this, but it made me feel fuzzy, inside.

I loaded the RO BGM files up in an audio player.... I mute the in-game music and just listen to that. Simply a matter of variety. That said.... As I do not have internet access at my apartment, for the time being, I have been listening to the BGM just for the heck of it.... That's a lie... It is because I want to play "Marshmallow Waltz" has been a fun song

Posting my earworm before I head to sleep xD This one's a classic, "On The Street Where You Live" from the musical My Fair Lady, sung by the great Nat King Cole. Lyrics

EDIT (because this needs explaining) So, years ago, after watching an Adam Sandler movie (I believe it was Little Nicky) I kind of started saying this, from time to time. Recently, while a friend was going through a rough patch, linking this vid to him was the best thing I could think of to lift his spirits (it helped) Now, when I get down on myself or just generally need a giggle, I think of or watch this vid. While not a proper song, it is an audio bite that has gotten lodged in the ol' grey.
It was this or Bawitdaba (came up on my ipod this morning)
